Ina and Jeffrey Garten spent four months camping in Paris, using a Day-Glo orange tent to sleep in at night. She found that street food in Paris was simple, seasonal, and based on flavorful ingredients. Garten discovered a love for cooking in Paris, when she visited in the 1970s. She later earned her degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She married Jeffrey Garten in 1968 and the couple moved to North Carolina after Jeffrey Garten enlisted in the Army. ![]() She grew up in Stamford, Connecticut, and studied fashion design at Syracuse University in 1966. There was a great mystery plot and wonderful romantic tension, as well, between Kass and Lenorre - the head vampire in town. I loved how the preternaturals were out in the open and not just whispers in the wind - just thought to be imaginary. I really enjoyed the story and the characters were wonderfully written. ![]() When she's called on for help by a client and the cops, plus a rogue werewolf is out killing people, she's got to find help wherever she can - even from those she thought she'd never turn to. She's a skilled witch, but she's still learning about her beast side. She left the force and started her own investigation service.
